Firies honoured for 200 years combined service

Members from Palmwoods Rural Fire brigade, on Saturday (May 18) were invited to join other brigades from across the Sunshine Coast in a medal presentation for their recognition of service.

Presenters congratulated all members from all brigades and thanked the families of volunteers. “This recognition is just as much for the support families show in allowing our members to do what is needed.”

Members and their awards:

  • Dennis Morris, National Medal: recognition for over 15 years of service.

  • Tony Nobbs, National Medal: recognition for over 15 years of service.

  • Barry Dover, National Medal and 1st clasp: recognition for over 25 years of service.

  • Robert Grauer (former Palmwoods Rural Fire Brigade, now West Woombye Rural Fire Brigade), National Medal and 1st clasp: recognition for over 25 years of service

  • Roger Sambrooks, AFSM, National Medal 2nd clasp: recognition for over 35 years of service

  • Dennis Creasy, National Medal, 1st, 2nd & 3rd Clasp. Also received 4th Clasp for QFES medal: recognition for over 50 years of service.

  • Wayne Keyworth, National Medal and 1st clasp: recognition for over 25 years of service

  • Andrew Diggines, National Medal: recognition for over 15 years of service.

Remarkably, across the eight members, the length of service is over 200 years.
