Bendigo Community Bank Woombye has successfully awarded its inaugural scholarships to encourage local students to continue their education. The awards will provide funding to support senior high school or equivalent education. They were presented at a recent dinner, organized by the Bendigo Community Bank Woombye, to celebrate their achievement.

Board Member Jill Kuramoto said the awards were a testament to the successful students Asher Clune, Ruby Young, Abby Heeks and Lucy Spelman.

“We are delighted to be able to support these academically-motivated students, who have shown not only academic excellence but also strong community involvement and leadership.”

Recipients were selected based on scholarship criteria which considered community involvement and leadership roles, ensuring a well-rounded assessment of each candidate’s potential.

The Senior Scholarships, first introduced in 2024 for the 2025 academic year, are anticipated to become a cornerstone of community support. The dinner celebrated not only the students but also the broader commitment to nurturing future leaders in the region. Local educators and school staff have been instrumental in encouraging eligible students to apply and pursue higher education pathways.
