White’s IGA Mooloolah unveils major renovation

Bigger, better, and brimming with local flavours:

The highly anticipated reopening of the fully refurbished White’s IGA Mooloolah is set for this weekend and the good news for locals is that it's bigger, better, and brimming with even more local offerings.

Co-founders Roz and Michael White said their IGA is a beloved community hub and the $3m revamped shopping experience includes an expanded range, modernised facilities, and a fresh look including a striking flora and fauna mural.

Roz said the store now features a spacious 1,522m² layout which is 611m² larger than before and includes 70 additional car spaces to accommodate the growing demand from Mooloolah residents and visitors.

“This store was built for the Mooloolah community – it’s their store every detail has been designed with our customers in mind. It’s been a twelve month rebuild and we’re incredibly proud to offer a store that is 35 percent larger in size and now reflects the needs and personality of this wonderful community.

“In keeping with our Locavore philosophy, we are thrilled to support a number of local producers including award winning Woombye Cheese.

“Ever since we purchased this store from Wally and Jenny George back in 2007, we’ve worked hard to create a space that serves the community both practically and with a personal touch. This upgrade wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of our design team as well as local tradespeople and the patience of our loyal customers and our staff,” Roz said.

Michael said the Mooloolah store would rival any of the White’s Grocers six Sunshine Coast IGA stores from a quality, range and affordability point of view.

“Roz and I are really proud of what we have created with our refurbished IGA Mooloolah store. We have a fantastic store manager in Diana Van Jole and we employ 70 locals ranging from mums and dads through to school kids who are entering the workforce in their local community.

“To celebrate the store’s transformation, we invite the Mooloolah community to join in the fun with a Community BBQ on Saturday 5th April 2025 from 9am-noon. We’ll have face painting for the kids, a number of samples and giveaways featuring a range of Locavore suppliers and exclusive discounts just for the opening launch,” Michael said.
