The Sunshine Coast Gymnastics Academy in Nambour has secured $33,404 in state funding for vital equipment upgrades, including a new trampoline and foam pit refurbishment.
The grant is part of the latest round of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund, with Member for Nicklin Marty Hunt visiting the club to congratulate volunteers and young athletes.
“Gymnastics is an Olympic sport, and it’s fantastic to see this kind of investment flowing into our local community ahead of the Games,” Mr Hunt said.
“This grant application was put together by a dedicated volunteer from the club, so it’s wonderful to see their hard work paying off.”
The academy is one of nine Nicklin-based community groups sharing in a total of $237,508. Mr Hunt said the organisations receiving support were the “heart of our region” and he was proud to back their efforts.
