Photographer captures wilderness energy in hometown exhibition
Although Nambour born Keanu Murrell grew up in Glasshouse, he has chosen his home town for his first photographic exhibition.
Keanu’s partner, Megan Toy explained “Keanu is a film photographer who has spent the past four years in North America. In 2019 he returned to his ‘roots’ and purchased a beautiful property just up from Koala Park.
“Keanu has chosen Nambour Social to exhibit a collection of 20 of his works, and is excited to bring his photography to his home town.”
Keanu collaborated with Mike Korsos of Korsos Photography to transfer his images from digital film to canvas and prints.
“The process was pretty amazing really,” Megan said.
“We sent Mike the digital film and he then printed them as stills onto the respective media,” she said.
“Mike is extremely skilled and he has done an incredible job of capturing the intention of each piece.”
Inspired by nature and natural landscapes, Keanu is entirely self taught.
“Keanu’s work captures the energy of wilderness sports and the environments that make these pursuits happen,” she said.
“I think this is another reason why Nambour Social was such a great fit for this work, because it is a place where people love to meet and gather in a relaxed and somewhat informal setting. A perfect place to showcase the stunning natural landscapes.”
The exhibition is on now and will run through New Year until January. The photographs and canvases will be available for purchase.
