‘More than the sale’: Century 21 Living Local agent’s approach to real estate

Ask David Gaskin what makes a great real estate agent and he will tell you it’s much more than just making sales.

“Apart from integrity and honesty, it’s all about the experience,” says the Woombye Century 21 Living Local agent, pictured. “Anyone can give the spiel but it’s about building relationships with people and making sure they don’t feel like just another number.”

A true local, David has lived in Woombye since he was seven and knows the area like the back of his hand. With 25 years of retail experience under his belt including running a family business for many years, David’s love of people and his ability to build a great rapport with his clients is at the heart of why he chose a career in Real Estate. 

Well-known among his peers as an affable and enthusiastic character, he is passionate about good old-fashioned customer service and goes well above and beyond to ensure his clients receive top class service each and every time.

“I try to take the stress away as much as possible,” he said. “Sometimes that might mean mowing the lawn or picking up the palm fronds at the property, but that’s all part of being a great Agent and getting the best results.”

While it’s no secret that buying or selling a property can be a highly emotional time for some people, David says recognising and respecting these emotions is the key to a great client relationship built on genuine care and trust.

“It’s probably the biggest purchase they will ever make and there are lots of emotions ... they might be selling their long-term family home where they raised their children and have a lifetime of memories.”

When he is not looking after his clients, David is supporting the community and is currently the Vice President of The Woombye Snakes Football Club.

David is also a proud father of two, daughter Paris has just started her career as a mid-wife and son Sebastian is finishing year 12 and is looking forward to a future in the film and TV industry.
